Vab Goel
A business executive with more than a decade of investment practical experience, Vab Goel assesses beginning and late stage investment possibilities throughout the systems, services and Internet-related areas. At first keen on electrical engineering, Vab Goel attained a Bachelor of Science degree in the field by way of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. After college, Vab Goel devoted a long time in the telecommunications industry in crucial engineering and executive management functions. Mr. Goel has worked at Sprint, serving as the primary creator for the Sprint Internet backbone in combination with increasing Sprint’s IP and optical network program. In addition, Vab Goel completed a major role in the Global One IP network, a venture cooperation amongst Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, and Sprint that made available large-scale network deployments for multinational conglomerates.
Soon after Sprint, Vab Goel acted within the executive level for telecommunications provider Qwest. Setting up the Emerging Technologies Group at Qwest, Mr. Goel oversaw the identification and coming of new networking technologies as Vice President in the group. Additionally, Mr. Vab Goel created specific relationships with technology start-up companies, such as Juniper Networks, Siara Systems and Corvis. Just before that, Mr. Goel labored as V . P . of IP Network Engineering and Advanced Technology, where he put into use his practical experience from Sprint to put into action the company’s IP Network and Data Center Strategy built to help seamless services, especially for customers.
Mr. Goel shifted from engineering and executive assignments to investing in 2000, bringing from his activities in network engineering to generate feasible investment strategies as part of his venture duty. At the moment, Mr. Goel works as a General Partner at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), in which he makes early on to later level venture investments over a great deal of technology market sectors. Investments that Mr. Goel has produced while with Norwest Venture Partners involve C2C Pte. Ltd.; Virtela; LifeSize Communications (acquired by Logitech); Qumranet (acquired by Red Hat); and Unisfair (acquired by InterCall). Mr. Goel is working closely with Pontis, Apigee and Veveo at present, and in past times labored closely with Extreme Networks and Winphoria Networks (acquired by Motorola).
